			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Deep in the depths of the Jarsath&#8217;s Wastes dungeon <i>Charasis: The Emperor&#8217;s Athenaeum</i> there is a gentleman of questionable honor who goes by the nickname of Cut-Me-Own-Tail Ssstibbler. He offers to supply food and drink to adventurers who have found their way into the deeper parts of the zone and if you have the cash, you can purchase his book of tasty recipes not previously seen on Norrath.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/EQ2_000036.jpg"><img src="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/EQ2_000036-140x150.jpg" alt="Culinary Secrets of the Ssstibbler Clan" title="Culinary Secrets of the Ssstibbler Clan" width="140" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2885" /></a>His family recipe book, Culinary Secrets of the Ssstibbler Clan, is not cheap: Cut-Me-Own-Tail Ssstibbler wants 10 platinum coins to part with his tatty little book and he doesn&#8217;t offer credit. However, the book does include tasty drinks and dishes that you can not find anywhere else. Although it is in the depths of the dangerous Charasis West arena, there are many adventurers who have traveled the depths and purchased the book in hopes of finding a connoisseur of fine foods to sell it on to. If you don&#8217;t wish to fight your way through The Emperor&#8217;s Athenaeum, then speak to your local broker who may be able to put you in touch with an adventurer holding this rare volume for resale.</p>
<p>There are two types of recipe in the book: common recipes and a special selection of no-trade recipes that can be made in bulk. The recipe book requires level 75 Provisioner to scribe. The recipes themselves are level 80 Provisioner.</p>
<h3>For Your Nearest and Dearest</h3>
<p>There are two recipes which can be made in bulk. The food and drink are not tradeable and cannot be commissioned. They are marked as HEIRLOOM which means that you can place the food and drink into your shared bank to share with other characters on the same account. This fast and easy food is meant to allow provisioners to quickly supply their alts with food and drink. They do not have any stats and are simply meant as <s>junk food</s> convenience meals to keep out-of-combat regeneration high, which minimises downtime. </p>
<p>Each pristine combine creates a stack of 20.</p>

<h3>Dubious Delights</h3>
<p>The remaining recipes in the book will be somewhat familiar to fans of Terry Pratchett&#8217;s Discworld series (if you haven&#8217;t read it, shame on you and go by a copy of the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0061020710?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=mi0f8-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=0061020710">The Color of Magic</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=mi0f8-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=0061020710" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> immediately!). These are just-for-fun recipes and do not offer stats or any particular benefit over standard food. However, I have to admit the descriptions brought a smile to my face.</p>
<p>The food is created two at a time for pristine combines. They increase your max power and raise your health regeneration level out of combat which can help to reduce downtime.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/EQ2_000050.jpg"><img src="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/EQ2_000050-97x150.jpg" alt="Brute Meat Onna Stick" title="Brute Meat Onna Stick" width="97" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2890" /></a><b>Brute Meat Onna Stick</b><br />

<p>The drinks are created two at a time for pristine combines. They increase your max power and raise your power regeneration level out of combat which can help to reduce downtime. Note that all but the Classic Cola are alcoholic and may impair gameplay. But surely everyone knows not to operate heavy machinery while under the influence of Mountain Dew.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Hidden Plunderers are a band of iksar looking to <s>exploit</s> explore the City of Mist. You&#8217;ll find them in the far north of <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/faction-in-the-kunzar-jungle/">Kunzar Jungle</a>, conveniently located just east of the City of Mist. They have their own sokokar post, which is connected to the City of Jinisk and the Abandoned Village. You will start KoS to the camp so don&#8217;t go charging in &#8211; you need to start by speaking to Skulker Traz who is on the far side of the camp. The Hidden Plunderers are focused around a set of heroic quests for groups looking to explore the City of Mist but the faction can be gained solo (slowly) through the repeatable quest. </p>
<h4>Gaining Faction</h4>
<p>Initially you will need to speak to Skulker Traz located at <span class="waypoint">-400,138,-847</span> for the quest <span class="quest">Prove Your Allegiance</span>. This is a repeatable quest which will award 1,000 faction every time you complete it by taking out 8 Sathirians, which are right around the corner. It is possible, albeit slow, to max out faction through this quest alone. Certainly, it is worth taking the quest every time you pass by as Sathirians are plentiful in the jungle and it never hurts to get credit for thinning their ranks.</p>
<p>At this point, the action shifts to the City of Mist and if you wish to continue the quest line, you will need a decent group of players in their high 70s. Speak to Skulker Ganiz and Skulker Slythe for the Heroic quest lines. </p>
<p>You may wish to nip over to the iksar village camp by the river at <span class="waypoint">-210,120,-600</span> to pick up additional heroic quests in the City of Mist in order to get the most from your group.</p>
<p>Ireka Nazan is in the camp at <span class="waypoint">-196,119,-593</span> and has a quest series which starts solo but is easier done in a group. After two quests, she&#8217;ll ask you to deliver lunch pails in City of Mist. The NPCs are all in the same area as the Hidden Plunderers quests.</p>
<p>Ebenezer Sprockbok (Traveling Master of the Mechanical) is at the river&#8217;s edge at <span class="waypoint">-187,121,-606</span> and has a quest series to harvest parts from the golems in the City of Mist. This heroic series ends in Sebilis.</p>
<h4>Benefits of Faction</h4>
<p>You will be able to see the items on Trafficker Galax, the faction merchant, at negative indifferent faction although this does very little good as he has no items to sell to you until you reach ally faction.</p>
<p>At 20,000 faction you will find you are welcome to use the amenities of the camp. You will also gain a new revive location &#8211; if you die in the area you will be offered the option to revive at the Hidden Plunderers&#8217; Camp, which can save a bit of a run should your fighting in City of Mist go terribly wrong.</p>
<p>A Skulker buyer located at <span class="waypoint">-463,147,-887</span> will buy your goods but at 20% less than you would receive in your hometown. For anything of value, you are better off traveling home or to and selling your goods there for maximum profit. The Skulker buyer also sells Jungle Nut Bread and Purified River Water should you happen to find yourself without supplies.</p>
<p>A camp patcher, located at <span class="waypoint">-442,148,-877</span>, is available to repair your armor and weapons. Like most other menders in Kunzar Jungle, you will pay a 67% mark-up, a hefty two-thirds more than you would pay at an honest mender. The mender at Synod Reet will repair your gear for hometown prices or nip over to Fens where you&#8217;ll find Bathezid&#8217;s Watch and Exiles of Droga offer hometown pricing for mending and for selling your loot.</p>
<p>Once you have achieved 40,000 faction, you can purchase the faction rewards from Trafficker Galax at <span class="waypoint">-443,149,-882</span>:</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Synod Reet are a clan of Krupp frogloks hiding from the Sathirians in the Crypt Grounds in the Kunzar Jungle. They are hoping to rescue their enslaved brethren and once you earn their trust through Assistant Pubbit, they will happily accept your help.They can be found in the southwest of the zone. Murkdwellers&#8217; River is the closest sokokar post to the Crypt Grounds. </p>
<p> There are a few solo quests in the Jungle around Dalnir&#8217;s Wheel but the majority of the quests are in Sebilis and you will need a group to complete the heroic quest lines there. You must have achieved level 74 to begin this quest line. The repeatable faction quests are also heroic and take place in Sebilis. </p>
<p> Beware: killing the risen brittlebones in the area give negative faction with Synod Reet.</p>
<h4>Gaining Faction</h4>
<p>You will be KoS to the Synod Reet and the skeletons in their area until you complete the initial quest in their series, <span class="quest">For the Love of Reet</span>. Speak to Assistant Pubbit at <span class="waypoint">365,-110,896</span> &#8211; dodging the risen brittlebones in the area, avoid killing them if possible. Once you have completed his quest you will gain 35,000 faction with Synod Reet and the frogloks and the skeletons will no longer be KoS. Assistant Pubbit will ask you to enter the camp and speak to Foreman Guppka, who has further quests for you in the heroic dungeon of Sebilis. </p>
<p>Duz Heronimous and Speaker Rup also have quests for you in the Jungle which can be completed solo. </p>
<p>Boppit and Special Agent Froak have further quests in Sebilis. The initial quests from Special Agent Froak do not require killing and so can, with a bit of patience and care, be completed solo. </p>
<p>Kupput, the Synod Reet mender, offers a further quest in Sebilis, <span class="quest">Steel to be Stole</span>, which does not require killing and so can also be completed solo. This opens up the repeatable quest <span class="quest">Swords to be Swiped</span> to kill 8 iksar in Sebilis. The repeatable quest is heroic and pays out in 5,000 faction.</p>
<p>There is an additional repeatable quest, <span class="quest">Sathirian Hunting Party</span>, which requires specific mobs: the Praetorians at the entrance to Venril Sathir&#8217;s Lair. As this is quite deep in, Mender Kuppet&#8217;s quests are faster route for gaining faction via repeatables.</p>
<h4>Benefits of Faction</h4>
<p>At 20,000 faction, Mender Kuppet at <span class="waypoint">487,-96,909</span> is finally willing to repair the damage done to my gear by doing his dirty work in Sebilis. You&#8217;ll also gain a new revive point: River to the Fens of Nathsar at the Murkdwellers&#8217; sokokar post.</p>
<p>Once you reach ally faction (40,000 or more), you will be able to purchase faction items from Bulgup Urple, located under the tent at <span class="waypoint">475,-97,908</span>.</p>
<p>Ally faction is also needed for the Assassin, Druid, Defiler, Paladin and Ranger epic weapon quests.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Kylong Plains has a secondary faction that can be worked up: the Gwalnax Brigade. The Brigade is in charge of Di&#8217;Zokian clandestine operations in Kunark but they are not on the same faction as the Di&#8217;Zok. You&#8217;ll find the Gwalnax Brigade in the western Kylong Plains, near the entrance to Chardok. </p>
<p>You begin with threatening faction (-30,000) and you won&#8217;t be able to see the quest line offered by them until you have raised this to indifferent. Gaining faction and the initial quests are all solo.</p>
<h4>Raising Faction</h4>
<p>In order to gain faction initially, you need to deliver dull kromslayers to Warlord Gadar Gwalnax.</p>
<p><a href='http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/kromslayers.jpg'><img src="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/kromslayers-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="kromslayers" width="150" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-254" /></a>This is not a quest. Start at Karatun Hold, the giants&#8217; stronghold, which is at <span class="waypoint">1000,126,-2273</span>. Search the ground for Dull Kromslayers, which spawn around the outside of the hold. They are lore, so you can only deliver them one at a time. </p>
<p><a href="http://maps.eq2interface.com/map.php?zone_id=319">EQ2map</a> shows some of the confirmed spawn locations for the Dull Kromslayers. I found three initially simply by running around the west and north-west outside of the hold and then used the map to track down the remaining two. The gnomish divining rod does not show these. Note one of the possible locations for the kromslayer is a bit off the beaten track at <span class="waypoint">970,170,-2121</span> near the bridge. While you are running around, you might notice the bodies of Infiltrators scattered around the area: you&#8217;ll be needing to travel to all these later. </p>
<p>Once you have harvested a dull kromslayer, take it back to Warlord Gadar Gwalnax who is at the top of the tower at <span class="waypoint">1470,165,-2912</span>. He will give you 5,000 faction reward for every weapon you bring him. You will need to perform this delivery a total of five times. </p>
<p>There are no faction hits for killing the Gwalnax sarnaks around the tower. I suspect that it isn&#8217;t possible to lose Gwalnax faction at all. </p>
<p>Once you have reached indifferent (-5,000) you will no longer be able to collect dull kromslayers. At that point, speak to Battle Master Dolak, who is stood near the Warlord at <span class="waypoint">1477,165,-2918</span>. He will not be impressed when you point out you&#8217;ve collected weapons for them but, although he does not show a quest quill, he will offer you the quest <span class="quest">Leave No Di&#8217;Zok Behind</span> to recover the bodies of his platoon members.</p>
<p>The corpses of the infiltrators are scattered around the giants&#8217; stronghold and appear on track. You can get the locations on <a href="http://maps.eq2interface.com/map.php?zone_id=319">EQ2map</a> or use the list of locs on <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Leave_No_Di%27Zok_Behind">EQ2i </a>. The corpses have a bright yellow glowing spot next to them, a phylactery which you can harvest to take with you. Once you have collected them all and gone back to Dolak, he&#8217;ll reward you with gold and 5000 faction.</p>
<p><a href='http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/warlordgwalnax.jpg'><img src="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/warlordgwalnax-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="warlordgwalnax" width="150" height="150" class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-253" /></a>Now, finally, you are at 0 faction and the Warlord Gadar Gwalnax has a quest for you to enter Chardok and kill Bathezid battlers and veterans in the entryway. The quest is marked as heroic but the mobs are 76^ and soloable. They do not affect the Bathezid&#8217;s Watch faction in the Fens. The final mob will drop a note for you to examine to update your quest so you can report back. </p>
<h4>Heroic Questline</h4>
<p>Warlord Gadar will reward you with gold, 1,000 faction and a further quest: <span class="quest">The Maelstrom Below</span>. This is the first heroic quest in a series of eight which take place in Chardok with a wide variety of rewards. You can find the details for the heroic quests on <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Kylong_Plains_Timeline#The_Gwalnax_Brigade_Series">EQ2i</a> or <a href="<a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/mmorpg-info/feed">subscribe</a> to make sure you don&#8217;t miss <strong>Spending the Day in Chardok</strong>, another exciting report from your intrepid ranger (coming soon)!</p>

<blockquote><p>&#8220;For many years the Iksar wandered Kunark, seeking shelter and food. They began to form small packs, which formed larger tribes. After six decades, these tribes numbered five &#8211; the Kunzar, the Obulus, the Jarsath, the Kylong and the Nathsar. Feuds and skirmishes between the five tribes tore much of Kunark apart. Some shaman of the Iksar tapped into the powers of their original master, the god Cazic Thule, and their power grew. Others began delving into the darker arts left behind by the Shissar and others practiced hand to hand combat as an art.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>
The Rise of Kunark expansion includes 4 zones with progressively higher NPCs and quest lines:
</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/faction-for-terens-grasp/">Kylong Plains</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/faction-in-the-fens/">Fens of Nathsar</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/faction-in-the-kunzar-jungle/">Kunzar Jungle</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/jarsath-wastes-faction/">Jarsath Wastes</a></li>
</ul>
<h4>Traveling in Kunark</h4>
<p>Travel in Kunark is primarily based on Sokokar posts. In order to use these posts, you must first do a <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/fast-travel-quest-for-kylong-plains/">set of quests</a> which will reward you with a sokokar that will allow you to use the posts. If you are under level 65 in adventure levels but have a tradeskill at level 65 or over, you can do <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/sokokar-quest-for-tradeskillers/">the Sokokar quest for tradeskillers </a> instead. Once you have your own sokokar, you must travel to each post to bind your sokokar to that location. Each post has a maximum of three other posts that it is connected to &#8211; use <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/sokokar-travel-routes/">our route map</a> for further detail. </p>
<p>There are two <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/druid-ring-locations/">druid rings</a> (Kylong Plains and Kunzar Jungle) and a single wizard spires (Kylong Plains). You can also quest for the <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/fast-travel-across-norrath/">Warped Hammer of the Overthere</a> which will give you access to Overthere Gate. In order to start this quest, you must have ally status with the three main factions in Jarsath Wastes.</p>
<h4>Kunark Factions</h4>
<p>Every Kunark zone includes faction camps which offer benefits such as access to merchants, additional revive locations, menders and a quartermaster who sells items only available at that camp. As an overview, we have a table of the <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/kunark-faction-rewards/">Kunark Faction Rewards</a> which can be purchased from the quartermasters of the different camps.</p>
<p>Crafters have a separate set of quests and rewards which beings with a <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/kunark-crafting-quest/">tradeskill quest</a> in Kylong Plains. <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/kunark-faction-recipes/">Bathezid&#8217;s Watch, Riliss and Legion of Danak</a> each have unique faction recipes for tradeskillers. </p>
<p>The factions are by zone (that is, faction in one zone will not affect the factions in another zone, with the exception of the occassional introductory quest) but within the same zone the primary factions are often opposing. Despite this, it is possible (if not necessarily advantageous at this time) to gain ally faction with every factions via the quest lines and repeatable quests. In every zone except Kunzar Jungle, you can also kill NPCs for positive faction and no detriment for every primary faction.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Game Update 43 is live and includes new recipes for all tradeskillers. Hurray! However, there&#8217;s a catch: you need a significant amount of faction in order to get the recipes.</p>
<p>Kunark has three factions of interest to tradeskillers: Bathezid&#8217;s Watch, Riliss, and Legion of Danak. Tradeskillers have always been able to gain faction with these factions but up until recently there was not much incentive. Now each of these factions carries two new unique recipes (or sets of recipes) per tradeskill.</p>
<p>Each faction has the same timeline:</p>
<ul>
<li>Apprehensive (-10,000) You can purchase fuel (beware of Danak Shipyard!)</li>
<li>Amiably (10,000) Quartermaster will sell you advanced recipe books and prov advanced recipe</li>
<li>Kindly (20,000) initial faction-based tradeskill recipe(s)</li>
<li>Warmly (30,000) secondary faction-based faction recipe(s)</li>
</ul>
<p>In addition, -20,000 with Bathezid&#8217;s Watch gains you access to Tradeskill Epic Quest. </p>
<p>Note: Although you may be pleased when you gain the convenience of purchasing fuel locally, you should be careful. Not all merchants in Kunark are fair with their pricing.</p>
<h4>Bathezid&#8217;s Watch</h4>
<p>Bathezid&#8217;s Watch are located in the Fens of Nathsar. The tradeskill area is indoors at <span class="waypoint">1191,203,1444</span>. At apprehesive faction you can purchase fuel from Wholesaler Le&#8217;Gauqs at hometown pricing. Once you&#8217;ve achieved amiable faction (10,000), you will find Advanced Recipe Books for levels 70-75 are available from Tac Ci&#8217;Toruen at <span class="waypoint">1198,203,1425</span> at a cost of 10g36s80c each. You can also purchase two sets of provisioner recipes: Di&#8217;Zok Provisioning Infusions and Di&#8217;Zok Provisioning Reductions. Further recipes for each tradeskill become available at 20,000 and 30,000 faction for 12g96s each.
</p>
<h4>Riliss</h4>
<p>The city of Riliss is located in the Fens of Nathsar. The tradeskill area is at <span class="waypoint">-699,60,-85</span>. There you can purchase fuel from Wholesaler Dressik at hometown prices once you have apprehensive faction. Advanced Recipe Books for level 70-75 are available from Klok Zlazx at <span class="waypoint">-763,50,-214</span> once you have 10,000 faction. Provisioners can purchase their advanced meat recipes here: Sathirian Provisioning Reductions and Sathirian Provisioning Infusions. Further recipes for each tradeskill become available at 20,000 and 30,000 faction for 12g96s each.</p>
<h4>Legion of Danak</h4>
<p>The Legion of Danak is located in Jarsath Wastes with headquarters at the Danak Shipyards. The tradeskill area is at <span class="waypoint">-167,-33,1096</span>. It is possible to purchase fuel from Rhe&#8217;taxus and normal recipe scrolls from Gore once you&#8217;ve achieved apprehensive faction, however this is at a mark-up. If you are doing writs, you should avoid buying fuel from Rhe&#8217;taxus, as it will get expensive quickly. As there is a mailbox nearby, you are better purchasing the fuel on an alt at normal prices and posting it to yourself for use in the shipyards. In addition, you should avoid selling your goods to either of these merchants but instead use the Quartermaster next door.</p>
<p>Once you have amiable faction (10,000+) you can purchase Advanced Recipe Books for level 76-79 from Eviss Ryiss at <span class="waypoint">-105,-41,1106</span> at a price of 10g36s80c each. Ryiss also sells the advanced provisioner recipe, Sathirian Magma Recipes, which offers unique provisioner recipes for cooking with magma fish. Further recipes for each tradeskill become available at 20,000 and 30,000 faction and sell for 12g96s each.</p>
<p>Note: You can not get past 30,000 faction by doing writs. To gain full faction you must do adventurer quests. If you are able to do adventurer quests for faction, you will generally find this a much faster route than doing writs. </p>
<h4>Gaining Faction</h4>
<p>First thing you should do is get access to the Sokokar posts. If you have under level 70 in adventuring and at least level 70 in tradeskills, you&#8217;ll find a a specific questline for <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/sokokar-quest-for-tradeskillers/">Sokokar access for tradeskillers</a>.</p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve achieved that, you should go to Teren&#8217;s Grasp and speak to Taskmaster Greeblentus to <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/kunark-crafting-quest/">start gaining faction in Kunark</a>. You will need a minimum of level 70 in your tradeskill to get this quest.</p>
<p> Completing this quest will give you enough positive faction with Riliss and Bathezid&#8217;s Watch that you can enter their areas and allows you to start doing writs. </p>
<p>In order to gain faction with Danak Shipyard, you will have to return to Greeblentus with a minimum tradeskill level of 75 and take the quest <span class="quest">High Risks, Higher Profits</span>. This is a much simpler quest and there is a <a href="http://eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/article_page.php?article=q21&#038;menustr=060000000000">write up of the quest, including maps, on EQ2 Traders Corner</a>. Finishing this quest will again give you enough faction with the Legion of Danak that you will not be KOS and can begin doing writs.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Legion of Danak controls the harbor in Jarsath Wastes, which put them in a considerable position of power. You&#8217;ll find the general amenities of the city in the Danak Shipyards, it is worth gaining their favor alone for the shopping and banking benefits in the Wastes.</p>
<p>There are two strongholds, with representatives of Danak at the Barricade in the western Badlands and south at Danak Shipyard. The faction questline actually starts with Agent Zhatia, who the <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/selnok-faction-and-rewards/">Sel&#8217;Nok</a> have asked you to speak to as a part of their questline. As with the other quests in Jarsath Wastes, you will require level 75 to start this quest line. The quests are fairly linear but there doesn&#8217;t appear to be chance of ending up out-of-synch that&#8217;s been seen with the Sel&#8217;Nok and Skleross. </p>
<p>This faction, like the others in <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/jarsath-wastes-faction/">Jarsath Wastes</a>, is set up to be gained completely and thoroughly by quests alone.</p>
<h4>Gaining Faction</h4>
<p>Agent Zhatia, located at <span class="waypoint">395,5,-352</span> underneath the Iksar Hero Statue, is not actually from the Danak Legion but is happy to help you find work for them. Killing 12 hoplites and delivering them to Lance Corporal Sonoriss in the Upper Command post will net you 31,500 faction so that you can now travel through the barricade and into the shipyards in safety. He&#8217;ll pass you on Sergent Slithess who will offer you a set of quests. </p>
<p>Once they&#8217;ve stopped wishing you dead, you&#8217;ll find there are various quest givers. The Legion of Danak does not have a clear timeline like the other Jarsath factions. However, there are pre-requisites to gain the high faction questline which you&#8217;ll need to gain ally. </p>
<p>Although the quests start with Sergeant Slithess, you will not be able to complete his quest line until you have done <span class="quest">Seeking Sergeant Slithess</span>, offered at the end of a series from Lieutenant Daniss in the Danak Shipyards. Sergeant Slithess will not offer you <span class="quest">Commanding Attention</span> until you&#8217;ve passed on the message from Daniss . Once you&#8217;ve completed that quest, you&#8217;ll be offered an a new set of quests from Commander Glish in Skyfire, starting with <span class="quest">Your Glish is My Command(er)</span>. He has four quests which each offer 12,500 faction with the Legion of Danak. </p>
<p>You should be able to reach ally faction from the quests alone, however if you do need to repair faction, you&#8217;ll find that killing Dracurions (Droag) in Skyfire will gain you positive faction with the Legion of Danak.</p>
<h4>Benefits of Faction</h4>
<p>At negative indifferent (that is, over -10,000 faction with Legion of Danak) you will be able to use the bank at Danak Shipyard, run by Kilriss Zessch at <span class="waypoint">-253,-34,1132</span> </p>
<p>At positive indifferent (over 0 faction), the merchants will be happy to deal with you, but be warned! Not all of them have your best interests at heart.</p>
<p>Darelen Stirg, located near the banker at <span class="waypoint">-251,-34,1117</span>, will accept your collections, saving you a journey back to Teren&#8217;s Grasp. She will also purchase your goods from you at home-town pricing.</p>
<p>Eviss Ryiss, the Danak Quarter Master is located at <span class="waypoint">-105,-40,1106</span> and also will purchase your goods at home-town prices.</p>
<p>Utandar Rizndown, the Danak Foreman standing at the forge at <span class="waypoint">-118,-43,1122</span> is the local mender and does not mark up his prices for outsiders at all, so you can mend at the shipyard without fear of being taken advantage of.</p>
<p>There are two merchants in the tradeskill area, Gore is at <span class="waypoint">-172,-33,1087</span> and sells Recipe Scrolls and nearby is Rhe&#8217;taxus who sells fuel. Although both will happily accept your business once you&#8217;ve reached positive indifferent, they charge a premium for their wares and so should only be used in emergencies. In addition, they do not offer full price for items sold to them. Considering there are honest merchants next door, I would recommend avoiding these two con-artists if possible.</p>
<p>Danak Shipyards also has a hidden fence, allowing you access to the broker. Take the lift at <span class="waypoint">-13,-43,1214</span> and follow the breakwater to Ssorn Stob, Fence, at <span class="waypoint">-127,-38,1618</span>.</p>
<p>Once you have amiable faction (10,000+) you can purchase Advanced Recipe Books for level 76-79 from Eviss Ryiss the Quarter Master at a price of 10g36s80c each. Low-level adventurers with 75+ faction can work with the Danak via a tradeskill quest and writs. Ryiss also sells a specialist tome, Sathirian Magma Recipes, which offers unique provisioner recipes for cooking with magma fish. Further recipes for each tradeskill become available at 20,000 and 30,000 faction and sell for 12g96s each.</p>
<p>Every faction in Jarsath Wastes has one piece of the Warp Hammer for sale. The Legendary Hammer Foot is available from Eviss Ryiss the Quarter Master for 1g20s once you have 40,000 faction with the Legion of Danak. You will need all three parts in order to create the Warp Hammer, which offers swift travel to Kunark.</p>
<p>Once you have acheived ally status (40,000 faction or more) you will be able to purchase the faction rewards items from Eviss Ryiss the Quarter Master, located at <span class="waypoint">-105,-40,1106</span>. He sells the Legendary Hammer Foot for 1g20s which is one of three parts required to create the Warp Hammer (you must have the quest as well as the faction to purchase this item). He also offers the following armour and equipment:</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Skleross are a separatist clan of the deadly Scorpikis, from which the hostile Durus also stem. Their encampment is located at the very far north of eastern Jarsath&#8217;s Waste in Traitors Pass. They have their own sokokar post at <span class="waypoint">800,-23,-1225</span> which connects to Stonehoof Badlands, Howling Stones and Skyfire. You&#8217;ll find the initial quest NPC, Lord Sheckt, sitting under a tent (which obscures his quest quill) at <span class="waypoint">-795,-25,-1190</span>. The encampment also includes a mender and a faction merchant.</p>
<p>The quest line is linear and, like the <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/selnok-faction-and-rewards/">Sel&#8217;Nok faction line</a>, should be completed roughly in order. Although you can start the Skyfire quests before ever speaking to Lord Sheckt, you will not get your final faction reward until you have completed the other quests in the Skelross series.</p>

<p>The quest line for Skleross faction begins with Lord Sheckt at <span class="waypoint">-795,-25,-1190</span>. You can see detailed walk-through for <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Jarsath_Wastes_Timeline#Clan_Skleross_Faction">the full quest line on EQ2i</a>. </p>
<p><a href='http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/lordsheckt.jpg' title='You need to speak to Lord Sheckt'><img src='http://www.mmorpg-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/lordsheckt.thumbnail.jpg' alt='You need to speak to Lord Sheckt' / style="float:right" ></a></p>
<p>Lord Sheckt will ask you to put flowers on his brother&#8217;s grave in the chasm near the Charasis entrance. This initial quest pays out with 15,750 faction which sorts out any issues you may have had with the locals not being friendly. He&#8217;ll offer another quest for 15,750 faction to kill Durus (which give positive faction for Skleross as well), so you may wish to combine this with the Hunter quests which require you to kill Durus repeatedly.
</p>
<p>After you&#8217;ve completed these quests, he&#8217;ll send you to speak to Master Sniks who is camping at 700,-35,-280 on the river&#8217;s edge near the Howling Stones sokokar post. Sniks will require you to prove yourself by doing a number of quests for 1,000 faction each for his companions, Quartermaster Ulrothk (who is not a faction merchant) and Herd Master Rudek. Keep these quests in synch as they both take place in similar areas to the south of the camp and both NPCs will ask you to kill ambushing grindhooves (which are not the ones local to the camp, sadly). </p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve proven yourself, you will be sent back to Sheckt with a fishy flank and he&#8217;ll ask you to see Shaman Medicus in Skyfire. The Shaman will require your aid to find the Tome of Fate. You will not be successful but it is the jackpot in terms of faction: 50,000 with Clan Skleross when you report back to Lord Sheckt having finished the quest line from the Shaman.</p>
<p>It is trivial to gain ally status through completing this quest line but you can also gain faction by killing members of Clan Durus, who are not a primary faction (you can never gain faction with them). Each dead scorpikis from the Durus clan is worth 100 faction.</p>
<h4>Benefits of Faction</h4>
<p>Once you have positive indifferent faction (that is, zero or more), you will find the traders of the Skleross encampment are happy to deal with you. Nyber Efiw, the Clan Skelross Mender, is located at <span class="waypoint">-869,-17,-1193</span> and will mend your gear and purchase your items from you at home-town prices. Tragen Gorschk, Clan Skleross Trader, is across the way at -<span class="waypoint">861,-19,-1158</span>. He is the faction merchant and will also purchase goods from you at home-town prices.</p>
<p>The Warp Hammer quest line from Necromancer Corporiss requires you to buy a piece of the Overthere Hammer from every primary faction in Jarsath Wastes. The Legendary Hammer Head is available from Tragen Gorschk for 1g20s but you need 40,000 faction with the Skleross (and to be on the appropriate quest to collect the items). You will need all three parts of the hammer in order to create the Warp Hammer, which offers swift travel to Kunark.</p>
<p>Once you have achieved ally status (40,000 faction or more), the following items can be purchased from Tragen Gorschk:</p>

<p>If you haven&#8217;t started your epic yet, you&#8217;ll find <a href="http://www.thebrasse.com/game-news/139">your quest starters and some initial information on theBrasse.com</a> &#8211; more than enough to get you started.</p>
<p>And if you are a bit further on than this, write it up! Brasse is making an offer that you won&#8217;t see every day:</p>
<blockquote><p>I haven&#8217;t much to offer in return, but for every complete, non-plagiarized Epic Quest guide, I will put the author (or co-authors) in a comic, and maybe get you a special beer stein! A coffee mug for those few who do not like beer&#8230;</p></blockquote>
<p>You can post to volunteer on <a href="http://www.thebrasse.com/smf-forums/index.php?topic=1133.0">the forums at The Brasse</a>.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m somewhat removed from Norrath at the moment (actually at this moment I am in a renovated barn in Bull&#8217;s Green in Hertsfordshire, which is almost as bizarre), but you can bet I&#8217;ll be looking to help out once I&#8217;m back to civilization! I&#8217;m pretty sure Brasse will knock a few pounds off of the hips of my epic-wielding halfling if I ask nicely&#8230; ;)</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve not tagged this as a guide as it&#8217;s quite rough. I didn&#8217;t get very far into the quest but for those who are just getting online, I thought I&#8217;d get you started. Meanwhile, I&#8217;m heading to sleep and then travelling all day &#8211; so I&#8217;m counting on you to tell me the next stage!</p>
<p>Speak to Danelak Hosfoak at <span class="waypoint">1196,203,1464</span> at Bathezid&#8217;s Watch in the Fens. </p>
<p>You&#8217;ll need faction to do this. There is a whole set of quests dedicated to helping low-level tradeskillers get around in Kunark. First you need to get access to <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/sokokar-quest-for-tradeskillers/">the sokokar posts</a>. Then, get faction with Bathezid&#8217;s Watch (and Riliss, which I suspect we&#8217;ll need for the epic) by doing the <a href="http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2/kunark/kunark-crafting-quest/">initial kunark crafting quest</a>. Then you will need to do writs to get to apprehensive faction (that is, better than -20,000 faction). They pay out 750 faction, so if you can do the adventurer quests, you&#8217;ll probably find that quite a bit quicker. </p>
<p>So, assuming you&#8217;ve done all that, Danelak will ask you your tradeskill class and ask you to do 20 combines of one of your T8 class recipes. Do these, hail Danelak again.</p>
<p>He&#8217;ll ask you about what you know and then tell you about famous cabbage jewelery in Rivervale &#8230; something like that anyway. :) Go to Rivervale and enter the Fool&#8217;s Gold.</p>
<p>There is a door at <span class="waypoint">-64,-17,12</span> that I&#8217;m pretty sure wasn&#8217;t openable before. Go through there and you will find Neeta Cabbageleaf at <span class="waypoint">-62,-17,-7</span>.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a lot of references to EQ1 items which made me laugh aloud. Then she sends you to Kelethin.</p>
<p>I should have brought a druid with me really&#8230;.</p>
<p>Head for the Nursery in Greater Faydark and speak to the Matron, who will tell you to go to Steamfont to get a smoke bomb.</p>
<p>Go to Steamfont and then pop by Gnomeland Security and speak to Maladominus Poxbringer at <span class="waypoint">-528,175,990</span>.</p>
<p>He will ask you to forage various items from around Steamfont and flowers from the Loping Plains. </p>
<p>You&#8217;ll find scrap heaps around <span class="waypoint">-199,92,914</span> near the Loping Plains zone line which you can harvest for bolts and grease and the power source. You can tell which is which by the visuals. The bolts show as a flat cog and the grease looks like a tin of grease. The power source looks like, well, a pile of scrap. The water pump is a larger cog sticking up out of the earth &#8211; I&#8217;ve seen it twice at <span class="waypoint">-507,115,756</span> but that might be coincidence.</p>
<p>You can use Gnomish Divining Rods to help you to find these quicker. Just don&#8217;t get too close to the kobolds!</p>
<p>The Eternal Nightshades are harvested all over Sonborn cemetery in the Loping Plains.</p>
<p>Report back to Maladominus who will leave you waiting for a while and then hand over a Soporific Dispensorator.</p>
<p>Now you need to return to Neeta in Rivervale and tell her you have the distraction. She&#8217;ll port you into a version of the Drafling Tower. The port works on a group so you can go with your friends.</p>
<p>The bixies in here are heroic, three up arrow and range between level 90-96. Luckily you have the soporific &#8212; just keep using that to clear them out of your way. You&#8217;ll have to go deep into the tower to <span class="waypoint">-77,63,-24</span> where you&#8217;ll find clickable flowers in the center room. Harvest your distilled jumjum and use the crystal to return to Neeta.</p>
<p>Ask her again about the jewelry and she&#8217;ll ask you which tradeskill class you are. At this point, the quest diverges by class. As a provisioner, I was asked to go to Nektropos Castle. As a tailor, I needed to travel to Whisperwind Isle in the Kingdom of Sky.</p>
<p>At this point, I gave up the ghost and went to bed. I won&#8217;t get a chance to play again until next week, so I&#8217;m counting on you lot to fill me in!</p>
