EQ2 Icon Hidden Plunderers’ Faction

The Hidden Plunderers are a band of iksar looking to exploit explore the City of Mist. You’ll find them in the far north of Kunzar Jungle, conveniently located just east of the City of Mist. They have their own sokokar post, which is connected to the City of Jinisk and the Abandoned Village. You will start KoS to the camp so don’t go charging in - you need to start by speaking to Skulker Traz who is on the far side of the camp. The Hidden Plunderers are focused around a set of heroic quests for groups looking to explore the City of Mist but the faction can be gained solo (slowly) through the repeatable quest.

Gaining Faction

Initially you will need to speak to Skulker Traz located at -400,138,-847 for the quest Prove Your Allegiance. This is a repeatable quest which will award 1,000 faction every time you complete it by taking out 8 Sathirians, which are right around the corner. It is possible, albeit slow, to max out faction through this quest alone. Certainly, it is worth taking the quest every time you pass by as Sathirians are plentiful in the jungle and it never hurts to get credit for thinning their ranks.

At this point, the action shifts to the City of Mist and if you wish to continue the quest line, you will need a decent group of players in their high 70s. Speak to Skulker Ganiz and Skulker Slythe for the Heroic quest lines.

You may wish to nip over to the iksar village camp by the river at -210,120,-600 to pick up additional heroic quests in the City of Mist in order to get the most from your group.

Ireka Nazan is in the camp at -196,119,-593 and has a quest series which starts solo but is easier done in a group. After two quests, she’ll ask you to deliver lunch pails in City of Mist. The NPCs are all in the same area as the Hidden Plunderers quests.

Ebenezer Sprockbok (Traveling Master of the Mechanical) is at the river’s edge at -187,121,-606 and has a quest series to harvest parts from the golems in the City of Mist. This heroic series ends in Sebilis.

Benefits of Faction

You will be able to see the items on Trafficker Galax, the faction merchant, at negative indifferent faction although this does very little good as he has no items to sell to you until you reach ally faction.

At 20,000 faction you will find you are welcome to use the amenities of the camp. You will also gain a new revive location - if you die in the area you will be offered the option to revive at the Hidden Plunderers’ Camp, which can save a bit of a run should your fighting in City of Mist go terribly wrong.

A Skulker buyer located at -463,147,-887 will buy your goods but at 20% less than you would receive in your hometown. For anything of value, you are better off traveling home or to and selling your goods there for maximum profit. The Skulker buyer also sells Jungle Nut Bread and Purified River Water should you happen to find yourself without supplies.

A camp patcher, located at -442,148,-877, is available to repair your armor and weapons. Like most other menders in Kunzar Jungle, you will pay a 67% mark-up, a hefty two-thirds more than you would pay at an honest mender. The mender at Synod Reet will repair your gear for hometown prices or nip over to Fens where you’ll find Bathezid’s Watch and Exiles of Droga offer hometown pricing for mending and for selling your loot.

Once you have achieved 40,000 faction, you can purchase the faction rewards from Trafficker Galax at -443,149,-882:

EQ2 Icon Synod Reet Faction

The Synod Reet are a clan of Krupp frogloks hiding from the Sathirians in the Crypt Grounds in the Kunzar Jungle. They are hoping to rescue their enslaved brethren and once you earn their trust through Assistant Pubbit, they will happily accept your help. They can be found in the southwest of the zone. Murkdwellers’ River is the closest sokokar post to the Crypt Grounds.

There are a few solo quests in the Jungle around Dalnir’s Wheel but the majority of the quests are in Sebilis and you will need a group to complete the heroic quest lines there. You must have achieved level 74 to begin this quest line. The repeatable faction quests are also heroic and take place in Sebilis.

Beware: killing the risen brittlebones in the area give negative faction with Synod Reet. [More...]

EQ2 Icon Before You Go to Chardok

Kylong Plains has a secondary faction that can be worked up: the Gwalnax Brigade. The Brigade is in charge of Di’Zokian clandestine operations in Kunark but they are not on the same faction as the Di’Zok. You’ll find the Gwalnax Brigade in the western Kylong Plains, near the entrance to Chardok.

You begin with threatening faction (-30,000) and you won’t be able to see the quest line offered by them until you have raised this to indifferent. Gaining faction and the initial quests are all solo. [More...]

EQ2 Icon Kunark Faction Overview

All you need to know about Kunark Faction, collected in one handy-dandy place. Bookmark this page!

“For many years the Iksar wandered Kunark, seeking shelter and food. They began to form small packs, which formed larger tribes. After six decades, these tribes numbered five - the Kunzar, the Obulus, the Jarsath, the Kylong and the Nathsar. Feuds and skirmishes between the five tribes tore much of Kunark apart. Some shaman of the Iksar tapped into the powers of their original master, the god Cazic Thule, and their power grew. Others began delving into the darker arts left behind by the Shissar and others practiced hand to hand combat as an art.”

The Rise of Kunark expansion includes 4 zones with progressively higher NPCs and quest lines:

Traveling in Kunark

Travel in Kunark is primarily based on Sokokar posts. In order to use these posts, you must first do a set of quests which will reward you with a sokokar that will allow you to use the posts. If you are under level 65 in adventure levels [More...]

EQ2 Icon Kunark Faction Recipes

Game Update 43 is live and includes new recipes for all tradeskillers. Hurray! However, there’s a catch: you need a significant amount of faction in order to get the recipes.

Kunark has three factions of interest to tradeskillers: Bathezid’s Watch, Riliss, and Legion of Danak. Tradeskillers have always been able to gain faction with these factions but up until recently there was not much incentive. Now each of these factions carries two new unique recipes (or sets of recipes) per tradeskill.

Each faction has the same timeline:

  • Apprehensive (-10,000) You can purchase fuel (beware of Danak Shipyard!)
  • Amiably (10,000) Quartermaster will sell you advanced recipe books and prov advanced recipe
  • Kindly (20,000) initial faction-based tradeskill recipe(s)
  • Warmly (30,000) secondary faction-based faction recipe(s)

In addition, -20,000 with Bathezid’s Watch gains you access to Tradeskill Epic Quest.

Note: Although you may be pleased when you gain the convenience of purchasing fuel locally, you should be careful. Not all merchants in Kunark are fair with their pricing.

Bathezid’s Watch

Bathezid’s Watch are located in the Fens of Nathsar. The tradeskill area is indoors at 1191,203,1444. [More...]

EQ2 Icon Danak Legion Faction and Rewards

The Legion of Danak controls the harbor in Jarsath Wastes, which put them in a considerable position of power. You’ll find the general amenities of the city in the Danak Shipyards, it is worth gaining their favor alone for the shopping and banking benefits in the Wastes.

There are two strongholds, with representatives of Danak at the Barricade in the western Badlands and south at Danak Shipyard. The faction questline actually starts with Agent Zhatia, who the Sel’Nok have asked you to speak to as a part of their questline. As with the other quests in Jarsath Wastes, you will require level 75 to start this quest line. The quests are fairly linear but there doesn’t appear to be chance of ending up out-of-synch that’s been seen with the Sel’Nok and Skleross. [More...]

EQ2 Icon Skleross Faction and Rewards

The Skleross are a separatist clan of the deadly Scorpikis, from which the hostile Durus also stem. Their encampment is located at the very far north of eastern Jarsath’s Waste in Traitors Pass. They have their own sokokar post at 800,-23,-1225 which connects to Stonehoof Badlands, Howling Stones and Skyfire. You’ll find the initial quest NPC, Lord Sheckt, sitting under a tent (which obscures his quest quill) at -795,-25,-1190. The encampment also includes a mender and a faction merchant.

The quest line is linear and, like the Sel’Nok faction line, should be completed roughly in order. Although you can start the Skyfire quests before ever speaking to Lord Sheckt, you will not get your final faction reward until you have completed the other quests in the Skelross series.

EQ2 Icon Epic Quest Guides

Brasse is working on completed Epic quest guides and is looking for help.

If you haven’t started your epic yet, you’ll find your quest starters and some initial information on theBrasse.com - more than enough to get you started.

And if you are a bit further on than this, write it up! Brasse is making an offer that you won’t see every day:

I haven’t much to offer in return, but for every complete, non-plagiarized Epic Quest guide, I will put the author (or co-authors) in a comic, and maybe get you a special beer stein! A coffee mug for those few who do not like beer…

You can post to volunteer on the forums at The Brasse.

I’m somewhat removed from Norrath at the moment (actually at this moment I am in a renovated barn in Bull’s Green in Hertsfordshire, which is almost as bizarre), but you can bet I’ll be looking to help out once I’m back to civilization! I’m pretty sure Brasse will knock a few pounds off of the hips of my epic-wielding halfling if I ask nicely… ;)

EQ2 Icon Tradeskill Epic - Getting Started

I’ve not tagged this as a guide as it’s quite rough. I didn’t get very far into the quest but for those who are just getting online, I thought I’d get you started. Meanwhile, I’m heading to sleep and then travelling all day - so I’m counting on you to tell me the next stage!

Speak to Danelak Hosfoak at 1196,203,1464 at Bathezid’s Watch in the Fens.

You’ll need faction to do this. There is a whole set of quests dedicated to helping low-level tradeskillers get around in Kunark. First you need to get access to the sokokar posts. Then, get faction with Bathezid’s Watch (and Riliss, which I suspect we’ll need for the epic) by doing the initial kunark crafting quest. Then you will need to do writs to get to apprehensive faction (that is, better than -20,000 faction). They pay out 750 faction, so if you can do the adventurer quests, you’ll probably find that quite a bit quicker.

So, assuming you’ve done all that, Danelak will ask you your tradeskill class and ask you to do 20 combines of one of your T8 class recipes. Do these, hail Danelak again.

He’ll ask you about what you know and then tell you about famous cabbage jewelery in Rivervale … something like that anyway. :) Go to Rivervale and enter the Fool’s Gold. [More...]

EQ2 Icon Epic Tradeskill Starter and More

Game Update 42 is upon us! The patch notes are on the forums and the servers are up!

A quick Q&A based on the questions coming fast and furiously on the servers:

Tradeskills

1) Where does the tradeskill epic quest start?
Speak to Danelak Hosfoak at 1196,203,1464 at Bathezid’s Watch in the Fens.

You’ll need faction. Bathezid’s Watch are KoS to outsiders but if you don’t have adventure levels, don’t despair! You need to get access to the sokokar posts and then get Fens faction by doing the initial kunark crafting quest. Then you will need to do writs to get to apprehensive faction (that is, better than -20,000 faction). They pay out 750 faction, so if you can do the adventurer quests, then that is much quicker.

You can watch this thread for information as people gather it.

2) Where is the new tradeskill quest for advanced recipes?
Go to your city tradeskill society and speak to the Grandmaster in there. He’ll give you the level 35 quest Trademan Service, which requires you to harvest briarwood in Zek and the Enchanted lands. Provisioners gain two new drinks and one new, er, food. All fluff but they made me laugh.

3) How do I get my mannequin?
Mannequins are crafted. You need warmly faction with a city tradeskill society to purchase the recipe which is level 55 and scribable by any tradeskill class. You will need a rare T8 pelt to create a mannequin.

Adventurers

4) Where do I find the Erollisi Day quests and stuff?
Stop searching: it’s not there yet. They will appear on the 14th of Feb, be patient.

5) Where does the [fill-in-your-adventure-class] epic quest begin?
Try looking in the class forums, where you’ll probably find discussion about what people have found so far. Be warned that not all epic quests start solo.

6) They said the Anda quest series reward for mages was going to be fixed. Why does my Bracelet of Thuuga still have +healing?
The fix was to add in a new item for mages - you can sell your bracelet in return for an earring with +spell damage. Yes, that does mean you’ll lose any adornments. And it’s a bit annoying to find that it’s an earring now although apparently it’s exceedingly nice.
