EQ2 Icon Housing Locations

The EQ2 housing guide is here! Sixes has applied his gnomish magic once again: the guide is sortable by column so you can find exactly what you are looking for. If you want to get really clever, click on cost and then on location and watch the table re-sort itself to show you the best bargains per city.

This is a great source of information for making sure you are getting the number of rooms you expect and paying a decent price for the neighbourhood.

Click straight through to Housing Locations to see the table in all its glory. :)

If you think this is useful, you should subscribe to our daily update by email to make sure you see Sixes’ next project. Gnomes are great, everyone should have one.

EQ2 Icon Mysterious Red Tome

Kunark has three new collections which are based on collecting static pages in order to gain a book. Once you receive the book, you will be sent to speak to an NPC who will then give you a quest. The quests reward you with a new language and a house item as well as around 22 gold. The Mysterious Red Tome rewards you with Di’Zok, as well as a house item and some gold.

You need to collect eight scattered pages in Kylong Plains. The locations are not exact but the pages do respawn very quickly and will be within a couple of feet of the location given.

The first four scattered pages are in the northwest section of Kylong Plains, around the giants’ camp of Karatun Hold, north of Highton.

Page Location Description
1 642,263,-2296 on wall, east of the Hold
2 712,249,-1925 nook near the SE corner of wall
3 888,200,-2092 between the posts south of the Hold
4 1184,143,-2514 NW of the Hold

The final four scattered pages are in the central section of Kylong Plains in a fairly wide area.

Page Location Description
5 338,56,-507 North side of Karnor’s Castle
6 671,44,-623 Giant area NW of Karnor’s Castle
7 878,35,-175 SW side of river
8 135,66,188 North side of Ru’Kaus Tower

Once you have collected all the pages, hand in your collection to Galadwen Dawnbreak in Teren’s Grasp, -1930, 480, -768. You’ll receive experience and a Mysterious Red Tome which can be placed in your house.

The Mysterious Red Tome is written in Di’Zokian but if you read it you will see that it is the Property of Emissary Glochk and you will receive the level 70 quest Locate the Legate.

Emissary Glochk is hiding in the northwest area of Kylong Plains, south of the Highton at 1125,151,-1900. Don’t be tempted to jump off of the Sokokar to get to him, you will land in the Gash and he is up top. Just cross the log bridge at the Sokokar post and then run south to find him.

He seems less than pleased to see you but then offers to teach you the basics of the Di’Zok language in return for completing the level 72 quest Bones, Bones, Everywhere Bones to kill skeletons. There are plenty of Greater Spurbones to the south of you: kill 15 of these to fulfil the quest.

Report back to Glochk who will give you a questionable tutorial in Di’Zok, a house item and some gold.

That’s the third of our mysterious tome series. You can learn Sathirian from the Mysterious Black Tome and Froak from the Mysterious Green Tome.

EQ2 Icon Riliss Faction & Rewards

The first faction you will come across when you enter the Fens of Nathsar from Kylong Plains is Riliss. Assistant Vihl is standing at the guard tower and would like your help with the quest Handed Down, collecting items from the local wildlife.

Once you have done this quest you are no longer KoS and can start the quest lines in the other locations. Assistant Vihl will give you the quest Vihl’s Errand to go to Sathir’s Span to start you off.

Getting Faction

The fastest route to faction is to follow the various quest lines given by the Rilissians, with a concentration in Sathir’s Span and in Riliss. The Riliss quests generally offer between 2,000 and 5,000 faction each. Various quests open up other quests so it is worth checking the quest hotspots a few times as you progress. [More...]

LotRO Icon Racial Deeds

The racial deeds in LotRO can be easy to overlook but the cumulative rewards make it very worthwhile to do the deeds as they come up, getting maximum experience for the deed and the kills and making sure you have the best traits available to you as the slots become free.

All racial deeds are slayer deeds. When you gain the level needed for the deed, you simply need to kill one mob of the type needed and the deed will be added to your journal. You must do the deed series sequentially, that is, at level 19 you can’t start the Enmity of the Goblins II deed until you have completed Enmity of the Goblins I.

You receive a total of five racial trait slots which open up at levels 13, 19, 25, 31 and 37.

The racial deeds, sorted by level: [More...]

EQ2 Icon A Mysterious Black Tome

Kunark has three new collections which are based on collecting static pages in order to gain a book. Once you receive the book, you will be sent to speak to an NPC who will then give you a quest. The Mysterious Black Tome rewards you with Sathirian, as well as a house item and some gold.

For the Mysterious Black Tome you need to find loose pages which are scattered around the Fens of Nathsar. The pages are split into three areas: [More...]

WoW Icon Tis the Season…

Feast of Winter Veil starts today! There are holiday quests including one that will turn your mount into a flying reindeer - how can you resist? Or /kiss any Winter Reveler NPC in order to get a Handful of Snowflakes - ok, it’s not as fun as a snowball but you can make it snow on the player of your choice. And if you pop by the Winter Veil tree (either Ironforge or Orgrimmar) you can get your very own Mechanotoy.

Burning Crusade bosses will have special festive hats in their drop table as of December 25th so you might want to pop by these instances:

  • Shattered Halls
  • Shadow Labyrinth
  • Auchenai Crypts
  • Durnholde Keep
  • Mechanar
  • Botanica

Ingamers have a full history on their wiki if you want more background details.

And if you are still looking for a gift for that WoW player in your life, well, what about a 3-D model of his or her character? You have to admit they are gorgeous…

LotRO Icon Yuletide Woes in Hobbiton

There is a special winter quest in Lord of the Rings Online to get a Yule-tree that you can place in your garden. It’s a fast and easy run-around quest but it will only be available until Christmas, so don’t miss your chance.

Speak to Hal Hornblower at the Hobbiton Stables. He’ll tell you the terrible news that Lobelia Sackville-Baggins is in charge of the Hobbiton Yule-feast and offer you [More...]

LotRO Icon Finish your Angmar Quests

There’s a very interesting Developer Diary: The Great Angmar Revamp on the official site with a lot of detail about the upcoming changes to the quests there.

Six months after LOTRO’s launch, what are some of the things we’d like to change about Angmar that have come up from player feedback and our own internal reviews? Here are some of the issues we’ve identified:

  • Quest flow is sometimes inconsistent and doesn’t send players to the correct level bands
  • Quest difficulty is mislabeled in many cases, both for Suggested Levels and Suggested Group Size
  • The spawns in Angmar feel out of place (boars again? Really?), and Elite mobs should not share spawn-points with Normal-statted mobs
  • Spawn density in certain locations is too great, resulting in very frustrating gameplay
  • The ratio of Full Fellowship quests to Solo quests is not correct; more Solo quests are required

You can see some of the details of what they are planning by following the link, but the important thing to note is that any Angmar quests that you have in progress will be taken out of your log book when Book 12 launches.

When Book 12 gets closer, we’ll release a list of all the quests that will be removed from your log, and a more detailed breakdown of changes. Admittedly, when you collect the quest again, you’ll be playing the freshly-polished and improved version, but if you’ve collected nine pea-plants and need ten, you might want to just get that tenth one and turn in the quest before Book 12 arrives.

The posts concludes with a reassurance that any quest rewards already acquired will be left alone. There still isn’t a firm date for Book 12 although it has been confirmed that it won’t be until the new year. I’m just waiting for my chance to go fishing.
